Dear Brooks,

Hey sweetheart! So I am very late in writing about our little date we had last month, but goodness I hope you know how much fun we had! Ava was with our friend Penny and her girls for the afternoon, and we soaked up some "just us" time. I loved hearing your laughter on the swings, and watching you run and drag your stick in the bark dust. I kind of loved when you'd run and hide, then wait for me to find you (I'm such a worry wart sometimes). I definitely loved when you'd call, "Mama!" from your various hiding spots in that big castle park. I loved when you asked for "Beebee Eva?" I loved that you wanted to ride down the slide with me, usually you're super independent and want to do it alone. I loved that you got super excited when I pulled out a couple packets of Pop Rocks for us to enjoy...and then watching your face as they popped and crackled in your mouth was hilarious, AHAHahAHa! We couldn't stop laughing! :) I love you sweet boy. You've definitely reached your max level for being defiant and disobedient lately. But you are loving on your sister more and more every day, and you've started saying, "Goo' to see you!" when your Dad or I walk in the room. Thanks for bringing so much happy into my life. I love you Brooks.

Love,
Mom

^^ Brooks started potty training! Waldo was here to help in this photo. ;) He's done great! Now to figure out how to go on big toilets so we can have him wear his cute underwear out when we go places. ;) ^^
^^ Adam taught Ava to sign "more" last week! Too cute to watch, I can hardly stand it. ^^

Rizzo at the Zoo

We went to the zoo at the end of April, and it was a gorgeous day with perfect weather! A good balance of cool and sunny skies made it so lots of animals wanted to be out. :) Along with that golden gorilla ;) I'd say Brooks' favorite animal was Rizzo the polar bear. We watched Rizzo for a good 30 minutes, she was so playful! Both of the kids were enamored by her. And we ended the day off on a sweet note with orange flavorburst icecream. SO good. Excited to go back lots this summer!

^^ "Wook! Eh-phant!!" ^^
Oh, and the carousel...Brooks was NOT a fan. That face up there, that's a forced, half-smile of pure terror. Just like our last trip to the zoo, he was terrified. He barely made it without tears, just sitting on the bench with Adam. I feel bad for the little guy, he has such anxiety with any sort of amusement park ride, and we have no clue why. We just hope, sooner than later, he'll be brave enough to try one out because we know he'd have a blast!
^^ Hi Rizzo! ^^
^^ There were neat Lego displays of animals all over the zoo. Of course we got a picture with polar bear. :) ^^
^^ They have the neatest fountain/ball/sculpture...Ava loved it. :) ^^

Napping

Because I just can't get enough of my littles in dreamland. And I want to remember their little features.
Goodness, it takes all my self control not to just scoop them right up.

Ava napping, two months ago, and she already looks different. Her little locks have grown. :)

Brooks, last month, in his big boy bed.

Tulip Festival

Early this month we were lucky enough to enjoy a gorgeous evening at Thanksgiving Point's Tulip Festival. We went two years ago, when Brooks was Ava's age. It was so fun taking a toddling little one year-old again, and a rambunctious three year old who couldn't get enough of it all up! Brooks would point out different colored "fowers and too-wips" and loved "frowing woks so high into da wadoo!" Ava loved exploring and being thrown high into the sky by her sweet Daddy. And I just loved being there with said sweet Daddy, and our two littles. A lovely pre-Mother's Day outing indeed!
Felt so, so blessed.

^^ CHEESE. ;) ^^
^^ Love my girl. ^^
^^ Stopping to smell the tulips. ^^
^^ Happy Brooks! ^^
^^ We may or may not have bribed him with the gum he has in his mouth to smile. Yea, that didn't work. haha ^^
^^ There were concessions and OH those little, feshly made donuts were SO GOOD. ^^
^^ Love him. Forever and ever. ^^
